About This Perfume

Vain & Naïve by Nishane is a Oriental Floral fragrance for women and men. Vain & Naïve was launched in 2018. The nose behind this fragrance is Chris Maurice. Top notes are Orange and Bergamot; middle notes are Raspberry, Plum, Rose, Jasmine and Cedar; base notes are Sandalwood, Tonka Bean, Musk, Amber, Patchouli and Benzoin. "This scent has been considered to be a tribute to the each “unique love” ever experienced on earth by the creative directors Murat Katran and Mert Guzel. In the novella we see that the prince’s love for his flower causes him much pain and heartbreak. The flower grows from a strange seed that somehow lands up on the prince’s planet. The first thing we learn about her is that she is beautiful. “It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important.” NISHANE’s objective has been to bring the smell of this flower that Little Prince is love with into reality. To be able to bring into existence this coquettish flower that has trouble expressing her love for the little prince and consequently drives him away, NISHANE had to refer to varying notes to underline the mood that is simultaneously vain and naïve. The flower informs the little prince of her love for him too late to persuade him to stay home and not to travel. Throughout the story, she occupies the prince’s thoughts and heart." - a note from the brand.

The Brand

Nishane

Nishane has 53 perfumes indexed on Scendira, and every single one reads unisex in our catalogue data. The six most-common accords are woody (28 perfumes), aromatic (14), citrus (13), fresh-spicy (10), white-floral (10), and warm-spiced (9), built on a note backbone of patchouli, musk, jasmine, sandalwood, bergamot, and cedar. Prices run $79.95 to $650, with a $153 median, so this is niche-luxury pricing, not budget. By community mentions, Ani and Hacivat dominate discussion by a wide margin, well ahead of Hundred Silent Ways, Wulong Cha X, and Meant To Be Seen. Nishane is a Turkish niche house that builds scents around one sharp idea rather than an easy, wearable-for-everyone blend, which is part of why opinion on the range splits. Filter by note below, or ask Dira which Nishane perfume actually matches what you want to smell like.

Best for: fragrance collectors who want a distinct, conversation-starting niche scent and don't mind paying niche prices. Skip if you want an easy, crowd-pleasing daily wear at a lower cost, Swiss Arabian or Rasasi cover that ground.
